We are thrilled to announce that earlier this year Pathways CIC has retained its Gold Investors in People (IiP) award following a recent assessment. An achievement that reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence and our people first approach.

This recognition highlights our progress across all areas of the IiP framework, with specific praise for our values-driven culture, strong leadership, and dedication to continuous improvement. The report rated several areas, including Living the Organisation’s Values and Behaviours, Building Capability, Delivering Continuous Improvement, and Creating Sustainable Success as high-performing, showcasing our ongoing development.

While our ambitious goal was to achieve Platinum—an accolade awarded to only 0.5% of assessed organizations—we are incredibly proud of progressing from no high-performing indicators in 2020 to achieving five high-performing indicators this year. The assessor also noted that the remaining four indicators demonstrated strong elements of high performance, positioning us well for future success.

Highlights from the Assessment:

  • A values-driven organisation: Our values of Excellence, Innovation, Passion, Partnership, Empowerment, and Positive Teams are more than words—they guide every decision we make.
  • A great place to work: 86.2% of staff strongly agreed or agreed that Pathways is a great place to work.
  • High job satisfaction: Employees described their roles as the most satisfying they’ve ever had, driven by a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Empowered workforce: 93.1% agreed they are encouraged to use initiative, while 96.6% felt they have the right level of responsibility to perform effectively.
  • Family-like culture: Staff feel a strong sense of belonging, with a shared commitment to achieving organisational goals.

Leadership Reflections:

Yvonne Clarke, Managing Director:
“I am immensely proud of what we have achieved. The assessor’s recognition of Pathways as a values-driven organisation reflects the integrity and unity of our team. Together, we will continue to uphold these principles and work toward our shared mission of promoting positive health, lifestyles, employment, and families.”

Mark, Leadership Team Member:
“Our journey with Investors in People has been transformational, helping us create an environment where employees thrive and contribute to the organisation’s success. Although we narrowly missed Platinum, we are determined to continue our high-performing trajectory and reach this goal in the future.”

Looking Ahead

While celebrating this achievement, we remain committed to further improvement. Priority areas include Leading and Inspiring People, Managing Performance, Recognising and Rewarding High Performance, and Structuring Work. These will form the basis of an action plan developed during a feedback session with IiP in November.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication of every member of the Pathways team. Thank you for your continued passion and contribution as we work together to reach even greater heights!
